Seasons Gamings

We started a tradition last year to meet up with friends and play Malifaux around Xmas. We were at Element Games on Sunday to do just that :)

I faced both a new opponent (master) - Ironsides and a new opponent playing Pandora.
I took a fixed Justice list to both games, mainly to check out her new upgrades and the Death Marshall recruiter, and also because I was honestly expecting to face a lot more rezzers but I lucked out and drew the two opponents that weren't playing Rezzers :p

I did teach my Ironsides opponent to fear the Lady, and downed her in two attacks through the non charge bonus on her great blade plus the bonus flips from the Swordmaster upgrade. The red joker on the second damage flip sealed the deal but was over kill at that point :p
Pandora was hell. I have some really un-fond memories of playing my friends Pandora crew when it was his first master, misery, web weaver, sorrows. All that fun stuff combined with some daft placing on my first couple of activations made this a real chore to be honest. I won't say much more other than that I need to learn to block LoS and not have models too far forward when they don't need to be. Play the long game lofty :)

I also got my required models primed on Saturday, and kept working on the Raicho, including a bit of a treat working on his base.

The Press mold for the base is still quite tricky, and the picture doesn't really show it turning out better than I expected. I'm still not really a fan and for the first time in a long while I'm tempted to buy some bases for miniatures, as I don't think I can continue this method but want to maintain the hex pattern bases. I added a small fan, and two resin plugs from Zinge industries, connected by guitar string, and lowered a section of the base as I have seen this done on some bases available to buy and really like the extra dimension of the base.

I originally planned to grab some infinity stuff at Element games, and save the postage, but I couldn't quite bring myself to add to the pile of unpainted miniatures in the end which I guess I should be pleased about :p

Looking forward to getting started painting again over the festive break, so watch this space :)

Back in action

We managed to get a game night on Thursday :D
I played Hoffman because my friend hadn't even seen my completed models, so it was a good excuse/reason :) It was pretty difficult playing with Hoffman who I'm not very familiar with, after a while of not playing, against Kirai who I'm also not familiar with, 8-10 though so it could have been a lot worse!

Once we have a working 'study' again I want to try and get the rest of my guild collection table ready and get some games going with Perdita & Rollins Black ASAP. As well as a lot more games in general.

Hopefully going to have the room move done this weekend, so no hobby updates incoming for a few days, unless its a pic of the new layout (minus gaming table so probably not!), but will be picking up table soon and get some pictures up :)

Hoping that the Ethernet cables we have currently are long enough to reach their new destination, but Screwfix is close enough to get new stuff at any rate :)

Preparation

Saturday yielded some pretty good progress, with 4 Guild Hounds, Kamaitachi, & 3 Terracota Warriors assembled & based (except for sand/texture paste). The hounds bases needed a 'lever' in the same way as the watcher/Guardians for Hoffman due to tiny contact points on the base. The levers are more subtle, with bits of broken fence/building rather than full on sewer pipes as the models are pretty agnostic of any of my guild crews at the moment, and 'McCabe' is primarily desert/wasteland based. I didn't really have an opportunity to airbrush on Saturday. My wife was busy preparing for a stall on Sunday and the cats were shut out of the kitchen, so I didn't want to stress them out any more by making weird noises and smells whilst they sat in the study with me.

All models for the guild apart from Lucius & lawyers, Nino, Governers proxy, Mounted Rollins Black, Iggy Pup & the Ramone sisters are also now pinned to (magnetised) bases ready to hit the table. I got pretty sick of all the new stuff I had bought just sitting in a drawer waiting to be painted, and having so little time recently. The Wild Ones models need a little bit of paint on what will be impossible to reach places once they are based, but after that I'm happy to continue painting them once they are based. Nino also has a pose which creates impossible to reach areas once based, so he needs a little work before basing. The other models simply aren't a priority right now so don't have a base ready to go on.

We have a holiday coming up from 21st September - 2nd October, so in and between sorting things out for that, I will be continuing to prep models for table time, and maybe even get some painting done during any longer times I find myself with for hobbying :)

Lists are definitely the devil it seems, having good intentions is one thing but listing what I aim to get done seems to invite something to crop up and prevent me from having the time. I need to rethink this idea for the blog, as I still want to list progress & what's on the table so to speak but it isn't working out brilliantly in its current format.

Malifaux bootcamp was cancelled due to dates confusion, but I'm still taking my guild to play this Saturday evening for a couple of games, so the expanded collection will be good to have for that.

I was thinking about what I could do to get better at the game, and thought that having cards models in deck boxes makes it a real faff to look through and read abilities etc, so I had a look on Amazon for a card binder and ended up with an A4 and A5 one of these which I really like, and enables me to flick through and ready cards easily, and see upgrades at the same time too.

The City Of The Damned

It's so hard not to just hop on a computer game after getting home from work, and then it being nearly 9pm by the time we have cooked, eaten, watched this week's TV Show (Preacher), washed up, prepared food for tomorrow. A shorter commute would be amazing, but having the money to move house isn't realistic right now.

It's not all doom & gloom, just a commentary on life as-is. The stag weekend last weekend allowed me to catch up with a high school friend who lives a couple of hours away, who also happened to come 14/200 odd in a Malifaux tournament with Yan Lo. We got to chatting about wave 5 releases and GG18 being tricky for guild. The Hen weekend for the same wedding is next weekend so Mr Yan Lo, the stag and I are all at a loose end next weekend. The stag has to work on Saturday so we have a Malifaux boot camp planned for Saturday. Mr Yan Lo usually drubs me pretty badly but in a well meaning friendly kind of way :p so there should be a lot for me to learn.

Which (finally) leads on to the main point here, which is that I have a target to aim for to get some models ready. Hopefully Tomorrow night, Friday and most of Saturday will allow some painting time to get progress made on the Ortegas & DM recruiters et al. Maybe even some more airbrushing on Saturday. Some planning/prioritising will be needed to make sure I get the models ready that are most wanted on the table top. Maybe even a current state of affairs for the guild/each project is a good idea to see what needs doing versus how much it's needed. Maybe this would fit well into the project pages, but it would also benefit from a post in itself.

Long and rambling seems to be the standard these days, apologies. Hopefully a bit of planning/structure will allow a bit of motivation, even without a lot of time so it doesn't feel like 'not enough time'

Quick Work

After a good weekend, despite not being at home very much, and a music festival providing a strange morning/evening routine with bands on until late, I did manage to get done the airbrushing I planned previously.

The 5mm needle in the older brush is far too big, it throws out gallons per seconds worth of paint, only some of which gets on the model of course due to a wide spray cone versus a relatively narrow model profile. The Ortegas that got sprayed took a whole heap of paint, but when using the 3mm needle in the newer brush (being too lazy to clean out the brush for a second colour had a surprising benefit), the paint is much more targeted, and didn't really take that much longer. Coupled with the fact that less paint overall was used for only one good coat instead of multiple brush coats, I'd call this a win! This doesn't seem like much at all, and is far from exemplary use of an airbrush, but it's progress, and saved time :)

There are a couple of further notes I'd like to make at this point about the equipment I'm currently using.

First off, the airbrush booth doesn't seem to drag away a massive amount of the paint... This is either because I still hold the miniatures i'm working on quite close to me whilst working, or for other as yet unknown reasons. Also, probably because of the sheer output of the 5mm needle, there was some paint which made it through the gaps in the fold out parts of the booth and onto my desk. This was easily cleaned with some airbrush cleaning fluid on some paper towel, though so not a massive issue. Lastly some paint DOES still come out of the filter at the back, so unless the booth is venting out of the window using the parts provided, some paper behind the vent at the back is necessary to preserver whatever might be behind the booth in your setup (my monitors/items on the monitor shelf).

Second, the newer airbrush is far superior to the first one I bought. It feels smoother in the trigger, and paint flow, and clogs less which is a huge plus! It says something that the older brush clogged more with VMA paint and paint thinner than the newer brush did with VGC paint and thinner...

Lastly, regardless of using an airbrush booth or not, ALWAYS wear a filter mask. This is probably related to my holding miniatures so close to me still while working on them, but I felt a bit light headed after I was done, and breathing in atomised airbrush thinner can't be good for any aspect of health really. Look after your lungs!

Bank Holiday Business

After posting the other day, I started thinking more closely about what models are currently outstanding with a view to what would be the best use of an airbrush session.
Checking the Guild project page gives us the below likely candidates for some quick coats of brown leather:
Malifaux Child
Metal Sam Hopkins
Master Queeg
The Latigo Posse
Death Marshal Recruiters
Abulea Ortega

Of these, a lot of them will need basing work doing, which I will try and get at least some completed tonight.

After 'recent' games with the Guild, this will also expand my playable model count considerably. Especially if Brutal Effigy and Limited Francisco get anywhere near completed soon.

Lastly, some Neverborn models are ready and waiting for paint, and will benefit massively from an albeit very different basecoat:
Lelu
Lilitu
Black Blood Shaman
Widow Weaver
Mysterious Effigy

This weekend is pretty much a write off as there is a music festival that my wife and some friends want to go to (not my first choice for music) so I won't be at home much for any useful hobby time until Monday.
Let's see what happens based on this mission plan (despite the fact that planning things out for hobby time seems to be the guaranteed way to make sure it doesn't happen :P)

Bad Things Happen

A bit of a misleading title maybe, I just meant that I actually played a game of Malifaux. Shocker eh?

We went to Element Games the other weekend as some of us wanted to get the Promotion model. I didn't really have anything in mind that I wanted, already feeling pretty guilty about the mountain of miniatures I currently have to paint for Malifaux. I ended up sharing a box of Samurai with my friend who wanted one for his Ten Thunders, so I kept two because, well Samurai are cool, and also because I have Izamu already for Nightmare McCabe. I also picked up a box of Terracota Warriors in order to get the spend price up for my wife to get the promo model, and McCabe loves them :)

The following Thursday all four of us were free so we planned in a game of Malifaux. After so long without a game, I went with Guild as it's something more familiar. I lost pretty badly to a summoner list Asami I think she's called. I got bogged down on the stash markers, and never made it past there to score from my schemes (i picked poorly from a not very guild friendly pool). It was fun to get models on the table again though and got me thinking about getting McCabe ready for the table.
All I'm missing is a bit of time to triage remaining steps to get them at least ready to glue to bases and then finish off at a later date.

I also got to thinking how beneficial an overall coat of brown (leather) would be for all the guild (mainly Ortega) models I have to paint currently. So next time I get a chance to get airbrushing, I will hopefully get a some work done on my Malifaux. There are some Neverborn models that might benefit from a blue base layer too :)

On the Payroll - M C

I was going to try and do something in the style of Sons of Anarchy's SAMCRO. However, 'Wild Ones Motorcycle Club Original' comes to WOMCRO which sounds weird...

Anyway...

I've made some decent progress with the nightmare McCabe box set, which I think is well worth sharing, especially after all the sulking and carrying on I did when I first got it :p

I also had the crazy idea (probably where SAMCRO came from above) to proxy the Wastrels from the standard McCabe box as some of the characters from Sons of Anarchy from the Through The Breach kit, so we shall see what I can manage to make of that :)

Bases are done, and waiting model placement before I add any grass tufts, if at all. Of course, I couldn't wait to see how it all looked so I can hopefully still get Cherri Bomb finished without either making a mess of the base or it getting in the way :p

The models themselves have been a real joy to paint with the exception of the already troublesome Ramone Biker, but I think they all look pretty good so far.

I'm not exactly rushing through these, but they've somehow made their way to the top of my painting list while there is still so much stuff that I just primed and stuck in a drawer :/ I am trying to get some older WIP models done at the same time though (Alt Franc, Brutal Effigy, Lone Marshall, Pale Rider) and they are pretty close to being done too.

Line in the sand

I don't think that counts as a pun... It's the 'Always' strategy from the standard strats & schemes for Malifaux...
Anyway.

We've all said this before, and probably most of us have meant it, but I doubt very many of us have managed to stick to it - I don't want to buy anything else until I've painted up most of what I have outstanding.

After the big push to assemble and get all my guild miniatures primed, I said something similar, but then managed to get hold of the Wild Ones crew, got some additions to this in order to get the War Rabbit promotion & bought Titania for the Dufresne alt model. So I'm serious this time, I really want to make a dint in my huge lot of assembled & primed models as I feel no small amount of shame for how much I've spent, and then not even got game ready.

Without making the mistake of setting targets and burning out like I did with Hoffman, current hit list will be something like this:
Lone Marshall
Pale Rider
Bases (Ortega posse, Lucius & co plus DM Recruiters)

Let's see how I fair in the next few hobby sessions :) I have some models to assemble to keep me occupied should need be (Kamaitachi, Guild Hounds, Titania) and My friend at work is interested to see me actually do something with my Infinity, so I hope I'm able to get some colours down soon as a PoC for my army colours.

I believe the Malifaux Project lists are up to date so I'll keep altering them as I progress.

Back to Basics

I managed to assemble the rest of the Nightmare crew on Sunday, and everything went together pretty well except for one of the bikers.

Elli Ramone is inside the wheel of her 'bike', the circular part of the bike however doesn't fit together as a complete circle for some reason. Of course I only discovered this whilst holding the rear part plus rider together while the glue set, in order to also get the handlebar in so that each part wasn't set and allowed be to adjust positions in order to line everything up. I wont go into details but after narrowly avoiding a high speed trip across the room, several loud and colourful exclamations seem to have made everything stick together just fine... If I'm honest, my heart was in my boots whilst struggling through that particular assembly after it costing so much. Not to dwell though, it's made now :) this is hopefully the last of my complaints and regrets about this kit as well so the future is bright!

As a bit of therapy after this last ordeal, I spent some time making the bases for this crew and Izamu

I'm going to add texture paste for a desert style base with some dry grass tufts, and desert style shrubs as well as dusty pigment on the base and some parts of the models when complete.

For Izamu I wanted to maintain his eastern aesthetic, as I will try to do with all Ten Thunders models I end up with rather than try and tie them into the biker gang theme of 'McCabe'. The idea currently is to do cocktail sticks as bamboo flooring on the raised parts, and try and recreate liquid greenstuff as 'water' (pre paint and gloss varnish) like I did for Hoffman's sewer bases, with the stepping stones, and some stiff bristles from a brush as reeds.

Lastly, I've made a bit of progress with the test woodgrain base I made for Abuela, and built up a more interesting base for Perdita.

There are a fare few bases outstanding for models I have undercoated, so I'm going to try and get some work put in on them, in order to make models usable where possible and paint them on their bases rather than having them sitting on corks WIP and not playable. This won't be possible for everyone though :)

In The Wilderness

We were away this weekend, so I guess this post is actually Sunday's post, but who's counting?
Great scenery, really relaxing, and an extra Monday/Sunday to boot!

I also managed to get some primer on the rest of the McCabe nightmare crew, in order to make assembly a bit easier and mold lines more visible.

On our way back from the Lake District, we stopped by Element Games in order to take advantage of the April promotion that they have going currently, which meant it would have been rude not to grab some friends for the newest bikers to roll through Malifaux...

Looks like I'll have to start a new section to the blog for Ten Thunders, or keep them under guild as an extension of McCabe... I suppose it depends how far down the rabbit hole my willpower allows me to go!

That's all for the moment, I hope to continue progress with McCabe and with my painting backlog and keep the photos going :)

Transparency

So this happened

But then this also happened :(

I didn't know it was a translucent crew before I bought it or I wouldn't have done. After speaking to the seller, he also apparently didn't know, and it wasn't marked on the original sale post. To be fair I think Paypal would refund me here based on misleading product information...
I decided to ask around about people's experiences with the translucent plastics from Wyrd, and they all confirmed what my biggest worry was, which is how brittle the plastic is compared to the standard kits. I decided, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth that I would carry on regardless as otherwise I wouldn't have the crew at all :)
The plastic is very brittle, and there are lots of thin parts which I'd be worried about even in the standard plastic. The smaller parts are also very hard to align as of course they are transparent. In hindsight I should have not started this but here we are :p

I managed to get the dismounted Rollins made up easily enough and Cherry Bomb assembled apart from the hand holding the gun which I can't see well enough to attach on such a thin connection point. I think before I get any further, the rest of the frames need a thin coat of primer to make them easier to work with for assembly.

I can't help but worry though seeing how thin some of the pieces are after seeing how brittle this type of plastic is.

Sorry to be so negative but I'm pretty bummed out after this costing so much with customs and all the rest, and now it feels like it needs to not be played with incase i break parts off...

In Summery

You love puns, I know you do.

This weekend saw a lot of sun for us over in rainy old England, so I finally got a whole heap of models spraycoated. The only things I now have not ready to paint are the Titania box set that I'm still assembling. Including some of my wife's models I basecoated 30 or so models in the sun on Sunday.
As I was home alone, and had some family plans cancelled, I also managed to put in some time on my Lilith crew, and only have the lady herself and teeth/blood effects on the Nephilim before I can call them don and be happy (as happy as you ever can be when you finish a model i think)

I had started some basing ideas for the Ortega family, wanting to do something different from the cobbled streets of the rest of my guild collection in order to represent their remote frontier operations. I originally tried to do wood planking using coffee stirrers, but it's really not so easy to cut these in a way that allows them also to look realistic, and they all ended up with sharp corners and blunt ends on a round base. After deciding to make-do with the bases I had made, I stumbled across a great website detailing a good process for wood grain bases, as well as a video being released the same day for the same effect. Not being one to ignore such a huge hint, I stripped my handiwork off the bases and started a greenstuff replacement, using Abuela Ortaga's base as a pilot as it will mostly be obscured if it had not turned out well.

I really like the look, and will continue this for the other Ortega models :)

We played again on Thursday, and I took Lilith as we were playing GG17. I really enjoy Lilith anyway, but she seems far better suited to the new scheme marker heavy pools than Guild would be. I was considering a Sonnia list with stalkers/Handler combo and an arresting Daschel, but flight and sprint are fantastic for getting pieces in position and dropping markers. Personal highlight in this game for me was Nekima's grow upgrade letting me summon a Mature Nephilim from a heavily wounded Young Nephilim. I love me some Mature Nephilim!
Seems like this is the year of Neverborn for me :)

Lastly, I managed to snag myself a Nightmare McCabe 'Wild Ones' crew box which is currently in transit from the US, so more to follow on this as soon as I'm able. Excited isn't the word!

On the Payroll - Watch me W(H)IP

Clever title is clever (not yet, you'll see...)

After adding the finishing touches to Hoffman, I wanted to arrange the models in my new case and ended up having all the larger than 30mm bases on the lid of the box. This reminded me of the two horsemen I have yet to complete. Both of whom have been sitting at around 80% complete for months (since my birthday sort of time last year im ashamed to say). I also spotted that the swords on my Witchling Handlers desperately needed redoing/fixing, but that's not really photo worthy...

I've also started working through the project lists page I created to track everything and so far I've got my Space Wolves all written up. Next I think will be Malifaux.

Anyhow, I made some great progress on the Pale Rider, I just got some paints out and seemed to make a whole heap of progress quite quickly so i just went with it and I quite like the results so far :)

The steed is almost complete, and I want to leave the rider relatively plain so as to keep focus on the undead horse. I'm unsure as to whether or not the undead flesh needs fresh blood or whether it looks ok as it is. Enjoying painting this though:)

On the Payroll - ROBATS

It's funny you see, as the watcher is a bat type thing and also a robot ^_^ It's also fun to say out loud, try it. Thank me later

I did spend a fair bit of time the other day setting up 'Pages' on the blog, ready for when I audit all my outstanding odds and sods. I realise now that this is totally invisible, pages don't pop up like posts do, so you lot wouldn't even know I'd written a post other than this one this week. Oh well :) I hope to start fleshing out various projects and hyperlinking them on that main Project page as and when I get chance to rummage through everything.

I'm finally at a stage where I am calling Hoffman and his construct friends done. I bit the bullet and painted in all the rivets on the Peacekeeper, Wardens and the few on the Hunters, as well as painting the few 'human' elements on Hoffman & Ryle. I added slime to their bases using the paint I wanted to try out. I have mixed feelings for it, but I think it looks OK, I might add a weak brown wash with some gloss over the whole of the 'sludge' part of the base through yet. I'm happy overall :)

There are a couple of tiny finishing touches to do to these, like the wash on the base I mentioned, some stitching on the watcher's wings and probably a dab of wash on each rivet, but it's less than a half hour of work total :)

Excuse what is hopefully the last in a long line of crappy photos, I did order some parts to hold my phone ion a tripod, and need to fond some lamps.
I also only just discovered the crop function,m but of course only realised that I was saving over the top of the originals by the time I realised I could dictate the size of the crop and have all the images the same...
Learning curve ;)

Out of a rut and into the groove

I've finally made some progress with Hoffman and pals :D I also put some work into working out what I wanted to do for the wings on my Nephilim (pictures to follow as I progress more on the crew).
Guild constructs are Very close to being finished now, I think only highlights ti the gold/brass areas are left as well as finishing off the bases once the slimy paint arrives. Hoffman and Ryle just need some work on their clothes and they are done.

I also ordered a tripod mount for my mobile phone in an attempt to start getting better photos onto the blog, after reading this post I found when googling miniature photography.
Which leads on to more mediocre photos of what I've been working on :p

The 'sewer waste' is pretty much done here, maybe I will add some gloss to make it look fresh and wet... :/ grim

He's watching you...

The camera hasn't done justice to a cape i enjoyed painting and was left quite pleased with :(

Hopefully I'll have a finished crew shot to share with you soon, then end is definitely in sight! :)

On the Payroll - Metallics

I made some progress on my Hoffman crew finally and blocked in, washed, and highlighted all the steel metallics. I also added the base colour for the bronze colour.
They are now ready to start adding the red & dark grey that I use across my Guild models.

I've had their big brother Peacekeeper around whilst painting as reference, but they are nearly caught up so I will hopefully get him finished alongside them.

I also finished the sewer pipes except one additional wash, and whatever liquid effect I add to the bases later.

Also featured are the Warden models I got recently :)

I have my Neverborn still mid-way though being painted, but I thought it would be good to have these two projects available at the same time so that I f I get burnt out painting metallics and red (very nearly) for example, I could just use my next painting session to do some Neverborn painting, rather than just not doing any.

I've just ordered some new paint racks and had a sort through of my cupboard that I store my hobby stuff in, so I hope to be able to do a post showcasing the new set up soon.
There's also a product review or two in the pipeline as well :)

On The Payroll - Robo Kitties

I managed to get the last two models assembled for Hoffman over the (busy) weekend, and the Hunters along with the Watcher raised an interesting problem.

All three models have a very thin connection point to the base. In the case of the Hunters I had to plastic glue them straight to the base for strength, and then wonder about how to base them. I eventually decided some kind of mud on the side that the models are one, and sewer type basing on the other side.

I managed to pin the watcher through one very thin and unstable leg to the base. In both cases however I wasn't looking forward to lifting them away from the magnetic storage I have been using of late (future post on my new storage/transport method incoming).

The workaround is these oddly angled pipes that are on the bases.

I have inserted a pin through the base which I've bent to be flush versus the base and then glued, I will also add greenstuff over the top of this to reinforce it. Above the base is a length of plasticard piping, filled with greenstuff which I pushed over the pin sticking out on top. I then glued this in place, and greenstuff the join on the base. Let it dry, and presto - I can pull the miniature away from the base without using the model to pull on, meaning they have no fear of coming away from the base, and I retain my sanity :)
I don't think the pipes look desperately out of place either to be fair. My only regret will be when I come to paint the hunters I think, as they are quite low to the base.

On The Payroll - Brothers

Just a quick update today as I've got a busy weekend but did manage to snap a picture to share.

I managed to get the majority of Hoffman and pals based and built completely ready to be primed (whenever it stops raining outside...) for the lowers areas of the bases, I used liquid greenstuff to simulate an uneven 'water' (Sewage?..) texture which I will paint up and then use the paint effect I mentioned previously to hopefully good effect.

In the background you may also be able to make out the alternate Barbaros that I managed to pick up recently which I'm very much looking forward to painting.

That's it for now, keep everything crossed for fairer weather tomorrow sop I can get some miniatures spray coated. My wife also needs a few things sprayed as she 'has run out of models to paint'! I don't think that has ever happened to me :p

Weakly WIP

Yeah I'm trying out puns as post titles again, bare with me, but I'm not sure it's going to last long :P

I've got a couple of things on the go at the moment, but more so because I'm weak (oh look, it relates to the title....)

I knuckled down and primed all the Neverborn bases on Saturday morning, I mixed up my own dark grey, watered it down and went to work. It took a reasonably long time as I had to use a relatively small brush instead of just glomping it onto the bases in order to preserver the already pained skin parts of most of the models.

Setting these aside to dry, I decided to start assembling some of the Hoffman miniatures I caved in and bought with some cash I received from family at Xmas. I went ahead and did Ryle and the Guardian first, along with their bases. Just missing greenstuff topping to take flagstone details.

I am going to be pinning unfinished miniatures to unfinished bases and priming the whole lot together with this crew. I seem to have a habit of owning WIP miniatures that can't be used until they are eventually finished, which is not only frustrating, but not really a good use of the minis :p

I have my Peacekeeper (WIP) is based on a sewer style of base, and I will carry this throughout the Guild Constructs.  The idea of Hoffman working on his creations in some kind of mad engineers laboratory, is one that I really like :) I also added some 'charging points' to the Peacekeeper, as he was giving me a very 'Igor' vibe, and I love the idea of him getting recharge via some mad lightning conducting thing... I may have over thought this a little. Here he is, WIP anyway.

There is a technical paint that I've seen from Games Workshop which looks like a decent slimy green kind of effect so I intend to use this to add some interest to the bases, as well as perhaps some blood, because the sewers of Malifaux end up with all sorts down there...

That's it for now, lots more on the painting desk though :)
